Superb MR Lounge chair, designed by Mies van der Rohe and produced by Knoll Studio! In supple black leather with a heavy chromed steel frame. It is in overall very good used condition as shown in the photographs, with normal signs of age appropriate wear, including some light scratching and scuffing to the chromed surfaces and very very minor wear to the leather as shown in the closeups.
Ludwig Mies van der Rohe’s MR Lounge Armchair was designed in 1927 as part of his contribution to the Weissenhof exhibit in Stuttgart, Germany. The chair’s cantilevered design uses tubular steel, to create an intuitively accessible and ergonomic seat. It was awarded the Museum of Modern Art Award in 1977 and the Design Center Stuttgart Award in 1978.
The frame of this piece is stamped with the Knoll Studio logo and Mies van der Rohe’s signature. This is the authentic MR Lounge Armchair produced by Knoll®. Made in U.S.A.
