Fabulous set of 4 antique c.1900’s arts & crafts period hand hammered copper plates by the world renowned Roycroft movement of East Aurora, New York. They measure 10″ in diameter.
They are in the exact condition shown in the photographs, with some scratches and scuffs to the patina from being moved around. They appear to have a layer of paste wax thats been applied to them at some point in the past.
There is a small square of early cut glass that has been applied to the center of each plate, I have not seen another example with this ornamentation and do not know if it was applied after the fact. They certainly could be removed with heat, if you were inclined, but as I am not an expert by any means on Roycroft I’m not inclined to do this.
